Surrender

Greetings Family,

This was too good not to share and it comes from, "Walk Tall": Affirmations for People of Color" by Carleen Brice.

Verbatim for June 9th it reads:

Surrender

WE ARE SCRAPPERS. To be Black, Hispanic, Asian or American Indian in this country is to know battle. We've had to fight for liberty, citizenship, and civil rights. Because the struggle continues, we may not know when to stop fighting. We may keep attacking a problem that can't be conquered by aggression; it's like banging our heads against a wall. Sometimes the best offense is surrender.

I'm not suggesting we resign ourselves to the difficulties in our lives. I'm simply suggesting that we may need to stop and review if our actions are helping or hurting our cause. Sometimes if we stop, we'll discover there is a better way

We can surrender ourselves to our Higher Power. We can let God take up our cause and help us with our conflicts. We do not have to go it alone.

In fact, sometimes the best way to approach a problem is to stop fighting it

I let go and let God (or whatever you call your Higher Power)"

The aforementioned quote amply applies to all those who have derided African-Americans or any people of color. It's time to uplift one another and cease and desisted from petty and demoralizing remarks...

Blessings of Peace,

Kioni
